Choosing just 5 favourite Mahler movements proved so hard that on my "Your 5 Favourite Mahler movements - Poll" there was actually a petition for the vote limit to be raised to 10, and also for Das Lied von der Erde to be included in the options.

So here the new poll is.
Should be interesting to see the results!
I shall start it off by voting for:
no.1 m1
no.1 m4
no.3 m1
no.4 m1
no.5 m2
no.6 m1
no.6 m2
no.6 m4
no.9 m1
no.9 m4
My three absolute favourites are highlighted :)

Get voting!

Hmm, I love all the symphonies, it's rather hard to choose even with 10 options; anyway I voted for:

No.1: m1
No.1: m2
No.3: m1
No.4: m1
No.5: m1
No.5: m3
No.6: m1
No.6: m4
No.8: part1
No.9: m4

"Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire." - Gustav Mahler

Brahmsian

Still very difficult to chose just 10 movements, but currently I chose these:

S1 - Final movement

S2 - Final movement

S3 - Final movement

S5 - Adagietto

S6 - First movement

S6 - Andante Moderato

S7 - First movement

S7 - Fourth movement - Nachmusik II

S9 - First movement

S9 - Final movement

Yes, I agree with both of you, still so difficult to choose even with 10 options! I still have to leave out many others that I love so much!

Mahler, you ought to go see it.

There are five movements to the Tenth — even if IV and V only are drafts, movements II and III were almost fully drafted and partially orchestrated: they are just as compelling musically as the first movement. If your argument against them is the need for a "completion" then you should strike Krenek's edition of the first movement from the poll (it's also worth noting he edited movement III since this required very little work compared to movement II).
