In New Orleans, Frenchmen Street is packed with great jazz clubs, and among them, d.b.a. is one of my favorites. It's on the small side, with space for about 100 people in its intimate room.

In March, COVID-19 threatened to close down the club, but it's hanging on, now by offering livestreams via a platform called StageIt. Tickets are $5 to $10, which under the circumstances, seems like an incredible bargain. I've already bought tickets for the Soul Brass Band (tonight) and Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers (tomorrow), and will certainly be "attending" more.

Brian

Last year (ie 12 months before covid) we went to d.b.a. for a night. My friends got sleepy right as the real fun started  ;D so we told them to get an Uber home and stayed a little while longer.

This is super fun looking. Thanks for the link!

Yes, like many clubs in NOLA, it can be on the late side.  8)

Also, I didn't realize until moments ago -- and I guess it shouldn't be a surprise -- that the club has been struggling to stay open. This initiative is their attempt to do just that.

In any case, most welcome!
