I'm particularly happy to see K 387 and the « Rosamunde » get the 2nd and 3rd spots.

This time I was kinda hoping Haydn would make it in...after all, I nominated it.   ;)  Though I did nominate the Lyric Suite too (I think?).

I prefer to have just one Haydn quartet advancing to the finals, and hope that op 76/2 wins !

The numbers are against you. He wrote at least 68, 50 of which are considered among the best ever. No one else is in the ballpark. FWIW, I am very partial to 76/2 myself, it is one of my 2 top faves (Op 50/1).

Mostly by people who have never heard a Quartet I suppose. God forfend that anyone should be referring to the consensus of generations of listeners. I mean, who would ever call Shakespeare a great dramatist either?  ::)
