Too late, Gurn ;)

Rats!  The works were so slight they escaped my notice. :D :D

Mahlerian should be pleased !  ;)

Yep, two of the three I nominated in this round made it in.  The other one put up a good fight, much to my surprise.

I'd be curious to know how many know Myaskovsky's quartet no 13 at all ?

Aren't you familiar with it?

André

I had no clue Myaskovsky had written string quartets, let alone 13+  :D.

I guess I have a surfeit of Myaskovsky with all of his symphonies and concertos on my shelves - and they don't get to see the light of day all that often  ::).

I suppose this is naive on my part, but I like to think that all participants make a point of listening to all unfamiliar works in a game before casting their votes.  I made sure to listen to the modernist works in Round Eight; you never know when one or more of them will be compelling or attractive.

Make a poll !

Make a poll !

I don't do polls.  Also, I don't question any voter's motivation - one vote is just as good as another.

I've got a lot of Tchaikovsky symphonies on my shelves and they never see the light of day.  I'd get rid of them, but I have no idea where they are in my home.

I try to somewhat familiarise myself with the pieces I don't know, including the Myaskovsky, Reger and some other works. I liked them but I couldn't bring myself to vote for them considering the other options.

André

Same here. I watched 3 of those unknown (to me) works on youtube. Even with the visuals I wasn't swayed. I certainly won't pretend I watched all of them.
