He did the same thing yesterday.  Might be a mistake, might be on purpose.  I've known voters who use less than their full supply now and then, although I have not known kyjo to do this in the past.  I'll send him a message.

Schoenberg's String Quartets remain severely underrated.  I can imagine that they would garner far more points if Schoenberg's name were not attached to them.

Why would they gain more points? Schoenberg is one of the most popular composers of the 20th century with hundreds of thousands of fans around the world (and they are proportionately high on GMG). Also, because the name 'Schoenberg' is so incredibly significant in music history and theory I would suspect that his quartets are justifiably famous anyway and people would come to enjoy his music for what it is already knowing at least something about the composer who wrote it and his importance to music generally. The third quartet is my favourite of his and it has come very far in the game already. I haven't really been voting for it because I know Schoenberg has many more fans here than Nono and Ferneyhough do.

Your strategy eludes me.  Neither Nono nor Ferneyhough has an opportunity of making it to the finals.  In the meantime, Schoenberg's 3rd which is your favorite of his quartets would have 45 points if you had given it 5 points each day you voted.  45 points doesn't guarantee that the work would make the finals, but it would have a decent chance.  Am I missing something?

I'm personally not so fussed about the finals. I like to acknowledge the pieces I like in how I vote for them in these rounds. Schoenberg will probably have as fair a chance as most pieces on the list of getting into the finals anyway as most works seem to fall within 20 to 40 points so far, right?

Huh?  Only three works in each round go to the finals, and the Bartok/Beethoven/Haydn works already have over 50 points each.  Add the fact that Brahms has 39 points and Ives 40 points, so I have to conclude that the Schoenberg is on borrowed time.

Of course, if you're not into getting your favored works into the finals, forget what I've said.

Ah wait you have a point here.

I do like the Schoenberg string quartet, but I actually like the pieces I am voting for a little more than the Schoenberg quartet. So my aim is to get them as high as possible in terms of votes.
