Here's a little something for horn and piano:

(Hopefully this works -- I've never used Dropbox before.)

I'm really enjoying this. I like how you've blended the reverberant sounds of the piano with the horn, and the contrasts between the attach of notes in each instrument is really effective. There's a wonderful consistency to the sound, a cohesiveness, yet it still manages to explore different musical ideas in a very natural pace. The ending feels sudden when the music just stops, but the musical trajectory towards the end is not really as sudden. What are your thoughts on the ending? Was there anything you had any difficulties with in composing the piece? What was your process in composing it?

Thanks for the kind words. As an amateur composer that does these sort of things on the side, I had some difficulty coming up with an adequate ending (but I was happy enough with the result that I thought I would post it here); some of the abruptness is likely due to it being a computer realization.

The idea for the piece was that it would be based entirely on the first few measures. I kept having the urge to add new material that, while not being bad necessarily, would dilute the material too much. Main ideas explored were the opposing roles of the horn and piano and a 'false relationship' between the voices (i.e. C vs. C#, Cmaj v. Cmin).
