Quote from: Karl Henning on June 06, 2024, 10:38:24 AMHey! Classical Nerd visits Charles:

This excellent program posed an interesting (though perhaps to no one other than myself) challenge to me, in that David Felder is a prominent contributor. It took me a second or so to reflect: He was an A-grade asshole to you in Buffalo, but you're not going to let that close your ears.

Really interesting. I'll watch it again sometime. Makes me wish I'd had the nerve to have dinner with him.

I've watched about half of it - up to "V: Conservative, or Revolutionary?" - and am enjoying it very much.  Thank you for posting it.

Great comment on the YT video:

I was a Bass II section leader with the Minnesota Chorale on this recording.  It required hours and hours of rehearsal and ultimately had to be memorized (by myself anyway) due to its almost complete atonality... it required complete command of pitch control and the ability to "ignore" the other sounds that were happening outside of one's own choral part.  I started out disliking it immensely - but grew to truly appreciate it and ultimately felt an immense sense of pride and accomplishment that the Minnesota Chorale managed to pull it off, and I think Charles was pretty pleased with the results.
