I'm thinking about compilations, anthologies, greatest hits and the like. Sometimes they are disparaged by "true fans" (purists) who insist that only complete albums will do. But some of them give a great overview of an artist's or band's work.

My list would include

The Kinks: The Kink Kronikles
Creedence Clearwater Revival: Chronicle (the 20 greatest hits)
Jethro Tull: Living in the Past

I also have a sentimental attachment to the Beatles "Red Album" (1962-66) and "Blue Album" (1967-70), as they are the first Beatles albums I got, and I still have them.

I could also mention Harry Smith's famous folk music anthology, but I haven't listened to it much yet.

I like this one:
"Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" (Churchill).

'The test of a work of art is, in the end, our affection for it, not our ability to explain why it is good' (Stanley Kubrick).
