Stürmisch Bewegt

A bountiful music day this rainy Monday, commencing with :

Leben heißt nicht zu warten, bis der Sturm vorbeizieht, sondern lernen, im Regen zu tanzen.

Wonderful music and music-making.  A good idea do you think, Harry, to portion-out the VCs to individual violinists, or not?  It works is all I can say!

Yes that was a smart move. All of them bring their own individual stance, and all play on a very high standard. So yes it works perfectly.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Arguably the singer, outside of Lenya herself, you (at least I) want to hear in Weill.

This suffered by me earlier for being filler on the disc with the Fifth Symphony. I admit, I don't pull that disc to listen to the Portraits (does anyone?), and after the Symphony, I am not ready to listen to lesser works.

With a little effort, I created a playlist for the Portraits, so here I am, listening. Good stuff, which is consistent with all the "minor" RVW I know.

Every time I see this name I chuckle. In Romanian moroi means revenant / ghost / werewolf.  :)
Maybe you should listen to this!  ;D

Previn's is the best version I think.
