Yup, guilty as charged!  ;D

He recorded it a number of times.  Here's a link to a live recording of his (Hungarian Radio and I don't think ever released):  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GvmwNP0iYg

He lists 6 recordings (releases) in his book:  The World of Music According to Janos Starker.   I read it a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed.

There used to be a video of him performing live from I think the 1950's; alas, it was taken down.  :(  There are a few other ones of him performing it.  Amazing to watch.  I can't play the cello, but it looks like it would be extremely difficult to play it and to do it well.

Edit:  Actually, this one might be better for you to listen to first:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpCXNI9k9PQ

A first listen to some Kurtag works, with some cello works played by Queyras:

Queyras is coming to Australia and Canberra is one of 2 cities he is NOT coming to and I am very, very annoyed.
Every single post on the forum is unnecessary. Including the ones that are interesting or useful.

You're welcome!  And not to derail the thread, but I will (shortly) be putting an excerpt from his book in the Janos Starker thread which I think you might find helpful/interesting.

The universe is change; life is opinion. - Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

People would rather believe than know - E.O. Wilson

Propaganda death ensemble - Tom Araya

Wow, that is a superstar lineup. So far I have liked most Schubert Octet recordings about the same, so not really a collector, but that one looks good too.

Benjamin Britten's
Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings

Benjamin Britten, Peter Pears, London Symphony Orchestra

Not a lot to say about a masterpiece, I guess... other than to note that it's just 5 days to go before Benjamin Britten Day. :)

I'll say it! I have to ration listening's as don't want the magic to wear off. Pears was born to sing Serenade.
Thanks for heads up for BB day.
You must have a very good opinion of yourself to write a symphony - John Ireland.

I opened the door people rushed through and I was left holding the knob - Bo Diddley.

Missa Fortunato Desperata a 4.
Traditional sacred song (around 1500) Maria zart, von edler art.
Missa Maria Zart a 4.
Beauty Farm.

No disappointments here, apart from the artwork. Well balanced and alert to the dynamics. Totally different to the Ars Nova singing as I was used too. Pronunciation of the text is admirable. Sound is as I expected, good and recorded on a high level, so be aware of the loudness settings.

He might be worth travelling for, if possible at all, to one of the cities where he tours? I had the chance to see him live with Melnikov and Faust at Snape. Hearing his cello playing live is one of my long-lasting concert memory.
