New release. My first encounter with Ginastera. Sounds great.

Ginastera is phenomenal. Even though the 3rd SQ is tougher, you acquainted him via some of his best works in my view.
The current annihilation of a people on this planet (you know which one it is) is the most documented and at the same time the most preposterously denied.

Symphonic Addict

Roussel: Piano Sonatina
Rózsa: Piano Sonata

Whilst the Roussel has a rather sparkling, witty nature, the Rózsa sounds more forceful and mysterious. The 3rd movement alone is worth the price of admission. Absolutely rousing!

The current annihilation of a people on this planet (you know which one it is) is the most documented and at the same time the most preposterously denied.

Indeed, most eloquently put. My thanks.

Woke up in the middle of the night. Went outside to look at the full moon. Put on an album I just read about on the forum. Going back to sleep soon.

This is really good, actually! I'm a bit surprised since my admiration for Letzbor has cooled down a bit over the years, with his style gradually "hardening". But this might supercede my Frederico Guglielmo recording (Brilliant). Oh, and these pieces are highly recommended! Ample proof that Telemann was not all "bluff and fluster"!

How does it compare to Rachel Podger's recording?

Colourful, vibrant, folksy Norwegian music at its best.

As before, I have my reservations about the conceptual programming. But they picked mostly great music and overall the performances are stunning.

Brahms: Piano trio no.3 in C minor, op.101

I always struggle to remember what this piece sounds like, because the piano quartet no.3 is also in C minor. But it's fine music despite the fact that I only remember it when I'm hearing it!
