an I would started as Lassus, The movie would center on Him but also mention masters of Béthume (Northern France) and masters of Spain centering on Charles Quint.

Chronical type of film, 3 hours long big budget on Renaissance musicians of Flanders and to an extent Burgundy, whit scene in Rome!

#1
Machaut and Philippe de Vitry go meet François Villon in a bar near the Sorbonne. He introduces them to his mates, all gangsters and prostitutes, and they have many adventures together, including lots of fighting, robbery and rape, all the time de Vitry and Machaut pretending to be respectable members of the court and the church. A beautiful teenage wench falls in love with de Vitry, but he just delivers her to all the members of Villon's gang who gang bang her. Another young damsel falls in love with Machaut, but her father refuses and has her immured in a tower, for life. Villon sees the ghost of his dead mother, repents, and becomes a monk. After a long car chase, Machaut and de Vitry get nicked, they're tortured, crucified and buggered by the chief torturer of some king with a silly name, like Pépin Le Moche, who has psychological problems. In the end they are boiled alive in public. In the final scene an angel appears singing Schubert's Ave Maria.

Wovon man nicht sprechen kann, darüber muss man schweigen

Both Vitry and Machaut had been dead long before Villon was born. For a HIP guy like you the anachronism is apalling. :D

That sounds like the greatest movie never made. I'd watch it.
