Well, considering he lives in Texas, and it is early September, perhaps Gazpacho soup? ;D

The peppers and onions might be rather hard on their compromised systems.  ;)

My second round of meds has done better than the first. I've had a real victory today. I managed to complete what was my regular walk. I walked slowly and took breaks, but I got it done without a massive coughing fit. And I'll take that as a win!

Well, it has been six weeks, but I finally consider myself well or well enough. I took my morning walk at a continuous pace without the aid of medicine and did not have a coughing fit. FINALLY.

I still have an occasional cough, but yeah good enough.

Excellent news, David! Very good!

Re: cough, not Covid related --- after turning 40 I began having a sensitive throat and there have been instances when I've continued coughing long after all other symptoms of flu disappeared completely (like, one whole month after); in the worst of them I couldn't even utter more than a few words before coughing prevented me from talking anymore --- but fortunately these cases were rare.

Apparently the "challenge" lies in the fact that many people who report long-COVID *symptoms* (as defined by WHO) have no history of COVID-19. This suggests that the WHO definition may be overbroad and tends to include people who really have something else.
