The answer is probably no....

Is there a way to "ignore" an entire thread, so it doesn't show up in the "Unread Posts" feed?

I don't want to offend unnecessarily, so I won't be more specific than that.

Not to my knowledge, Jeffrey.

That's what I think, which is why I titled the thread the way I did.

If a thread is bothering you that much, I'd just not click on it. For instance, there are a few posters on here who, from my point of view, have contributed nothing, so when I see a thread posted by them, I simply don't lick on it - easy peasy.

The "One-Word Post"? I know, I'm sorry.  8)

I can only say that if there is, it came in with the new software update because there didn't used to be. Since the ignore functions don't work for me, it's hard to even experiment...  :-\

I think that an 'option' for the political crap to show up or not in the new posts feed would be quite maaah-velous.  This is supposedly a music site, and those notices take up time and space.  Or perhaps there would be a way to cancel them altogether - those that want to chit-chat about rot that they'll never influence in any way whatsoever could just go to said thread and see what mushrooms popped up since their last visit.
The rest of us could then concentrate on the music.   :-\
The Germans, who make doctrines out of everything, deal with music learnedly; the Italians, being voluptuous, seek in it lively, though fleeting, sensations; the French, more vain than perceptive, manage to speak of it wittily; and the English pay for it . . . - Stendhal
