Sorry 'bout that
« on: May 21, 2020, 01:18:56 AM »
Hi all, and welcome back.

We had a major server failure on May 19 , and I couldn't diagnose or resurrect it.

Fortunately, I keep weekly backups of the forum and I have restored the forum from the latest backup.

Good news: forum is back
Bad news: restored from a backup made on 15/5/2020.

So we have travelled back in time to the 15th, and any post made between the 15th and the 19th is gone. Sorry 'bout that.

Rob

Thanks Rob!

I wish the whole World had a "server failure" and was restored back to 2019, the happy times before Covid-19...  ;)

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

First and foremost, many, many thanks.

Second, I seem to be staying logged in all right (US).

I agree.
There comes a point in your life when you realize: Who matters, Who never did, Who won't anymore, And who always will. So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

I have not experienced such problems. I didn't even need to log in when the forum came back online.

I second your sentiment, especially as 2020 has brought grave health problems in my family (not Covid-19 related). 2019 looks like paradise lost in comparison.

As a History teacher I've always wanted to travel backwards in time!

Thanks for all the hard work Rob in restoring the Forum.

Thanks, Rob!

No problem here with staying logged on. When I accessed GMG just now, it recognised me right away.

Thanks again, and best regards from the antipodes.

Or that joker Muller.

There's a joker called Muller currently trying to take over our opposition party. I think its being decided tonight. I hope they keep the low-polling idiot they've got. Or at least until September.

Sorry about the health problems in your family.  :(

2019 was a relatively good year for me: A member of one of my favorite bands made suicide and my AV amp "retired" and I had to buy a new one (not cheap), but that's about it... ...the best thing about 2019 for me was how I (finally) got into music theory. That was so cool!  0:)

2020 has been nightmarish... ...January and February where practically snowless in Southern Finland including Helsinki making the dark winter with short days here in the North extra dark and dull (at least it was somewhat warm). The becomes March and shit starts hitting the fan. Not only is Bernie stopped by the elite, but Covid-19 situation escalates and all the quarantee/limitation stuff starts... ...it really has been a lost year and I fear the whole new decade will be lost because Covid-19 ruins the economy for years to come.

I feel like I never get past 8000 posts on this forum. Everytime I am about to do so the server crashes and posts are lost.
