Composers, that never publish works, to hear them one as too buy a bootlegs??

Are there composer who were odd , they would never record only do live presentation to a bunch of chosen folks, and the only way to hear them is trough bootlegs albums,  good solid  & serious question do you guys have an answer if we speak of 20 century early past, who were against recording , If you wanted to hear them play you had to go to a concert,, in Progressive Japanese rock  Les Realizes denudes were like this for some reason in the 1970''.

Does classical s composer  like eccentric odd fellow refuse tho publish and distributed is music for some reason or another?

Do you have a problem buying a bootleg if it's the only way to here someone play?
