Whatever, babies can't appreciate Chateauneuf-de-Pape and Schubert, and what kind of shitty life is that?

This is just tasteless. I can't believe Subway would do an ad like this. Whoever thought it up is probably fired by now, and for good reason.

This has to be a hoax.

Update. I found it on The Onion.

Tasteless still, but a hoax for sure.

Tasteless, but I'm still laughing...

Good shot. Care to share anything about why you like it?
"You overestimate my power of attraction," he told her. "No, I don't," she replied sharply, "and neither do you".

Had the chance today to see 10 Picasso piantings on loan from the Kunstmuseum in Basel (which is undergoing renovation) to the Prado Museum in Madrid. Among them, these two jewels:

Seeing these paintings surrounded by Tintoretto and Tiziano in the Prado's central gallery, with El Greco, Ribera, Velázquez and Goya in the adjoining rooms felt rather special...

All those triangles in basket straps, the camels' necks and legs, and on the reflections, and in the man's and Sondra's legs and bathing suit. And those ripples on the sand and water where Sondra has just moved her foot. The synchronization of that with having one of the camel's lower hind leg behind Sondra's wrist and hand. The lighting of the model is quite nice too, on the legs and basket, and lighting some of the dark bathing suit too. And obviously giving that horizontal shadow. On top of that, the sand adds a great textural element to the photo.

Very well put indeed. Her hand behind the hat - perfectly posed to avoid the 'paddle' look.
And I do like how where her foot has moved. My eye returns to it, perhaps because I find it almost contrary in that it's the only clear sign of movement. Or maybe it serves to release tension in the composition. Ah, could be that it's simply the case that it belongs to pretty girl's leg!

All we need now is to know what Vermeer would think of the choice of how the camel of on the left has been cropped.  ;D

Yeah, there is a good amount of contrast and detail in that area, and her left foot points there, and the right leg, and its shadow.

Wonderful paintings, indeed. Picasso had such raw talent that many artists would give a lung to have one shred of his genius.

Dancing Divertimentian

Veit Bach-a baker who found his greatest pleasure in a little cittern which he took with him even into the mill and played while the grinding was going on. In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach

I did one of those celebrity look-alike things.

I saw one movie with this guy, that one terrible G.I. Joe movie in 2009.

And have heard of this "Magic Mike" movie that is popular among gay guys.  :-X
I'm not too familiar with this guy, though I have heard the name quite frequently the last year or two.

Thoughtful college activism.  These young women are part of gender equality group HeForShe, which, I confess, is new to me.
