I saw some stories trending about DALL-E 2 now being available to anyone, and, to use NPR's words, it has the "ability to render text into realistic images".  Per ZDNET, OpenAI's Dall•E 2 may mean we never need stock photos again.  Like, um, wow.  I decided to give it a shot.  The "realistic" image I received is attached.  The claims remind me of the bullshit surrounding VR.

Very clever--and sweet!  I'll have to show that to a friend of mine.  The middle one of his three daughters is getting married next weekend.  The eldest married (I want to say) several months ago.

Here's Chick Corea in what must be one of his last photos (in 2020):



I'm still saddened by the loss of this jazz giant. There'll never be another pianist like him. He was one of the last jazz pianists to have come from the tradition of playing bebop, which were really his roots. Of course, he went in so many stylistic directions, which is truly awe-inspiring. Even if I didn't necessarily like an album he released, it's great to know he never sat comfortably and was always switching things up. Interestingly enough, some of his last work was his return to the piano trio format, which is what his early work consisted of, especially in the mid to late 60s.
