Waiting, with dread?

The complete Telemann box would be huge, and many of the works would sound the same.   ;)

Probably. A Zelenka box for instance would likely be more varied, and comprise much less.

Included in: Ohlsson, the DG Edition, The Real Chopin Edition and the EMI 200th Anniversary Edition. Also, recorded by Nikita Magaloff and Leyla Gencer so that can be included in the Magaloff set.

Thanks, some of those I didn't know.

I don't know about Haydn, but for Schubert there are sets with complete Lieder, complete piano music both solo and four hands / duet, complete symphonies, complete orchestral music, complete string quartets, complete piano trios, complete works for violin and piano, possibly complete chamber music other than SQs and PTs, complete masses, complete choral works. I'm pretty sure only very few of his operas were recorded, though.

Well, certainly no one wants the Lieder in MIDI.

None I think.

For Mahler it depends if we count Die Drei Pintos.

For Scriabin I have all of the opuses, but not early works without opus number.

Some others come fairly close but I know there are things missing (even from what's been recorded).

You're welcome.

It's official now: after a thorough count and check, Chopin is the composer for whose works I have the most versions.

And now that I think of it, I have the almost complete Schumann too.

What I find interesting is that there is no complete Vivaldi.

Daniel Smith has recorded all of the Vivaldi bassoon concerti but these are very uneven performances'

To my knowledge there are no good recordings of the following Vivaldi bassoon concertos:

Concerto in C major/RV478
Concerto in E minor/RV484
Concerto in F major/RV489
Concerto in C Major/RV479
Concerto in G major/RV492
Concerto in F major/RV490

The Hungarian bassoonist Tamás Benkócs started to but never completed.

Well this thread isn't really about the quality of performances. But is the Naive series of bassoon concertos not complete?

To my knowledge it is not.

As far as the performance, I am a bassoon player and I have yet met a bassoon player who likes the Daniel Smith recordings.

If there are any out there, please speak up.

What are the complains regarding Smith? One of those ASV discs are often in Brilliant Classics compilations, as far as I remember.

The Naive series includes RV 484 and RV 492, but not the others.

Daniel Smith is a great jazz bassoonist.  I have some of his jazz albums.  Check out:

In order to play jazz he uses a reed that has an edge to it.  This is good when he is playing Charlie Parker but it is too harsh for Vivaldi.

Again if one knows of a bassoonist who disagrees with me, speak up.

No-one is disagreeing with you. I just observed the thread wasn't about the quality of performances.

Thanks.  I was not trying to sound that tangent.

I was hoping to find some suggestions and JBS gave me a few.
