Never mind losing to Melbourne last week... We'll let them off after an 8 and nought...

but we conceded 8 goals to Port in Q1 this evening...now 52 points down halfway through Q2...diabolical...

52 points is nothing, right...

right ??

We came back... to lose by 6...

we didn't really deserve it anyway, you can't just not turn up for a whole first half...

This sport will kill me though...

That's why you love it though.
I finally have the ability to edit my signature again. But no, I've no idea what I want to say here right now.

oh yes, it was a thrilling second half, funny that, how you can score when you turn up.

2 very frustrating games, in the manner more than the results.

Crazy also how we've missed Dangerfield's presence in the midfield.

On a funnier note:

Having a good evening @Holden ?

HT Suns 71 - 38 Cats

Sigh.

Might change back my avatar.... ::)
Olivier

Papy Oli

This is atrocious...

And it's only Q3...

Even heavier sigh...

Also, why the fudge did we have to travel all the way to Darwin...??

GC 26.8 (164) - GEE 15.10 (100)

Ouch.

Highest points scored for ever by GC.

Highest points scored against a Chris Scott team

Second highest score ever by a Damian Hardwick team

GC were way more accurate in their marks, passing, everything...

we disappeared after Q1 again.

Dodgy umpiring didn't help (18-3 free kicks for to GC at HT). Goal given to GC after review, even though a replay show it had crossed the behind line seconds earlier...but this is irrelevant.

You can't win when only 3 or 4 players turn up....

GWS, Richmond and Swans to come.

Then a bye.

Today felt like a bye already...

 :'(

Congrats @Holden !!

...yet I backed the Cats in the tipping. It's almost like the kiss of death - If I back them as the first game of the round they're bound to lose.

Apart from that, I can see the Damien Hardwick influence starting to come out. Will the Suns make the finals this year? Maybe, maybe not. The thing is that they are already playing a much better style of football and this might really come to the fore in 2025. Here's hoping.
Cheers

This season is so weird!!

What the hell is happening to the Swans right now?!?!?

71-1 down in the middle of Q2?!?!?

The Cats have been so uneven and yet we're only four points away from Sydney...
Olivier

Madiel

Gosh. I was vaguely aware that Sydney weren't having a great run, and I'd actually seen one of their players saying playing away this round was going to be tough, but that's pretty terrible.

It's kind of looking like the finals series might be intriguing for whichever teams actually make it.

Discussing this in my local, as I put in my tips, the theory came up that the Swans, with a six point lead at the top of the ladder and with only a few rounds to go would be saving players for the finals. So I tipped against them and my decision was a sage one but was it for the reason proposed by my mates? Looking at the scoreline I'd be very tempted to say yes.

Didn't they have quite a few key injuries as well? Papley and others?

In other news, bye bye Dusty and Hawkins. Probably the 2 first players I could recognise in my very early days of Aussie rules.

Guess they were instrumental in me loving the game.

I did read a tweet yesterday that it is the first time in Round 21 that not one team is yet mathematically qualified for the finals!!!

@Holden

You've won away !! you've won away !!!!!! on the siren !!! you've won away !!!

Merry Christmas mate !!!

And a good gritty win away for us as well at Freo. Sticking to top four for now...  8)

(who needs the Olympics, hey..  :P

that said, I checked the ends of the AFL games to get away from the stress of the Volley-ball Mens final  :blank:  )

Time leading:
Brisbane 117 min
Collingwood 3 min

FT: 79-78 to Collingwood.

Gotta love it!!

If my calculations, the Cats will be guaranteed a top 4 spot if we win at St Kilda tonight. Possible Top 4... That's how nuts this season has been...
Olivier

Madiel

Well, the couple of games I've paid the most attention to this round, things have changed a lot after halftime.

So has Geelong's... 30+ up at HT.

we'll be losing by 18...

As the old proverb goes, "30 pts mean nothing".

At home next week against the Eagles on the last game of the season to cement that Top 4.... against a lowly team on 2 W (if they beat Carlton tomorrow, I'll be even more worried).

This season is nuts...
Olivier

Madiel

It is indeed. I was just thinking that Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn and Carlton are all playing tomorrow against the bottom 3 teams. If they all manage to win as they ought to, then Fremantle gets dumped down to 9th.

At least Geelong are guaranteed finals. I think. It's taken me a minute to try to work that out but they can't be caught by Fremantle or Collingwood.

I think you're right. I'd have taken any top 8 position after last year to be fair. Top 4 would just be a bonus.

That'd be 11 years in the finals out of 13 for Chris Scott. Talk about trusting the process  :o
