Respighi
Casella
Castelnuovo-Tedesco
Rota
Malipiero
Pizzetti
Puccini
Vivaldi
Busoni
Martucci or Sgambati

An update is needed:

Giacinto Scelsi: such an extraordinary composer! I've been listening to Hurqualia for orchestra, Natura Renovatur for strings, and Yilam for female voices. This is creepy and mystical, but at once primitive and tribal. His sound world is quite unique and captivating. Wow! I can't recommend this music enough.
Part of the tragedy of the Palestinians is that they have essentially no international support for a good reason: they've no wealth, they've no power, so they've no rights.

Interesting!  I thought that you weren't into Italian opera though (Puccini)? I don't know any of his non-operatic works.  Is that what you were referring to?  Sorry, confused here.

A few favorites of mine:

Puccini (love his operas)
Verdi (love his operas!)
Donizetti
Rossini
Bellini
Respighi
Monteverdi
...will have to think of others...

Some others to add to my list:

Leoncavallo
Rota
Scarlatti (need to revisit his works for harpsichord/piano)
Albinoni (enjoy his works for oboe on a Heinz Holliger set that I have with I Musici)

For those of you who are fans, which works by Nona and Berio would you suggest that I visit?  Would appreciate some suggestions.  :)
