I searched and I did not find. I just want a place for people to recommend contemporary chamber music. If the thread already exists in some form, let me know. Otherwise, here goes...

I've only listened to the piano Quintet by Bryn Harrison. I like this creepy crumble music.

Try this, it's part of a much longer piece from a CD dedicated to composers associated with Goldsmiths College London, called A Reward is Given for the Best Inframammary Fold No. 4 by a little known composer called Sarah Hughes.

I haven't bothered to hear this YouTube clip, for all I know they've not chosen well.

Helmut Lachenmann's String Quartets are worth exploring. Arditti Quartet and Stadler are both excellent in these works.

edit: hmm, not sure why it won't insert the video in the webpage using the Flash tags, I'll just remove them.

This is a great favourite of mine - again just 5 minutes from a piece which lasts over half an hour

I'll check it out.  I almost made a thread for the Wandelweiser Group. I'm interested in it. I'm listening to this:

There's supposed to be a connection to Couperin but I'm not hearing it. Yet I like the music so far.

Wandelwiser were originally a sort of hippy commune, some sort of anarcho-communist thing I think. You're finding where your true affinities lie maybe.

Nice. Based on that 5 mins, another example to my ears of the aesthetic overlap between new and early music.

I didn't listen to this yet because I couldn't find the original on iTunes - so I listened to his string quartet No.3 which I really love. I find this kind of music inspiring.
