As a counterpart to "Your top favourite (western classical) works of all time" Here we can discuss non-western "classical" traditions and folk traditions from all over the world.

I'm not well versed at all in this topic so your collaboration will be much appreciated. I do however return to some recordings that used to be on YouTube of Balinese Gamelan and Japanese Gagaku every once in a while.

Florestan

Both are on Youtube.

Actually, too many Savall discs to list --- when it comes to non-Western "classical" music he's unbeatable.

Finally, something which might be surprising to many:

"Ja, sehr komisch, hahaha,
ist die Sache, hahaha,
drum verzeihn Sie, hahaha,
wenn ich lache, hahaha! "

Savall's Istanbul and Balkan Spirit would absolutely make my list. Truly spectacular. My Turkish mom approves too, considers Istanbul in particular to be totally amazing.
