I don't remember re nightmares...and trying to remember how old I was when I did see it?  :-[  I vaguely remember people running and screaming and sort of what the blob looked like (something along the lines of ectoplasm?).

They will have to come up with a dictionary word to replace 'crisis' as it has lost its meaning.

early adopter (or worse, early adapter)

The latter is a marketing strategy to encourage people to buy their products when they first come out so the customers can earn this title and proudly tell everybody they're an 'early adopter' instead of waiting and see how well something works and sells. They really sold a phrase, or rather an idea, into the public consciousness.
