Tis quiet on the forum. People are all busy doing........
I nearly fell asleep behind the screen. ;D
What are the activities, or preparations before the great event.
Family, alone...or holiday, or at home doing seasonal things, and some lucky buggers having snow with Christmas.
Want to share? :)
Did my groceries this morning, inclusive a visit to the hospital, my toe is getting a bit black....
Monday some last shopping, and then looking at the birth of light. 0:)

Well, Boston seems replete with lucky buggers, then  :)

Just came back from hosting a lobster dinner to thank the doctor (and her family) for making Vanessa's pregnency possible. Tomorrow a psycho-oncology conference, and Sunday to Tianjin to tape a lecture series for satelite TV (6 lectures I have yet to have time to prepare!). Since Christmas is not a holiday here, everything is still scheduled just like any other day. So things are hectic as usual.

How about New Year's (I mean by the solar calendar)?

(Edit:  Couldn't bear the misspelling in the subject header.)

Ah, yes! We are planning a private celebration just for the two of us (plus the baby in mummy's tummy). I prefer the solar New Year to the Chinese New Year now, if nothing else, because the Chinese New Year can be so loud for two weeks, with fireworks, firecrackers, etc., the whole country sounds like downtown Beirut or Bagdad on its worst day, multiplied by 100. I don't think there is a single spot in the city, or even the country, where you can get some peace and quiet, even at 3 in the morning. Some explosions can shake buildings! Car alarms are constant, non-stop. No good night sleep for two weeks.

Well, then again, as long as you can tolerate the noise and avoid being hit by explosions, Chinese New Year does have its many benefits as well.

There are far worse things to bear, Karl.
Be grateful that we do not have to suffer your Dutch spelling..... :)

Blimey, and that goes on for two weeks. :P
The Chinese people in Holland are only allowed to do that for a few hours, and they need a permit, and use firecrackers that have the seal of approval by the Dutch goverment. $:)

Hmm, when it comes to me I have more time for GMG when it's holiday as opposed to when it's full action at work most hours of the day...

Sure Suzyq I can and will.

Without doubt, without envy, without anger, without prejudice.
Glory to God alone.
How sweet it is.
