Yeah, this is my way of thinking.
Seems being extremely critical and tweaking every detail until it sounds "just right" is the way increase how stuff sounds from like a 6 or 7 to a 9 or 10... also just listening to feelings like "that's awkward when it just stopped there, feels like it should go on a bit for another 30 seconds," etc. and acting on the corrections always seems to help a lot.
My music is mainly just for me. Sharing it is a secondary thing, because it is the right thing to do in case some people also really enjoy it.
