Spare a thought for the German Baroque composer Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern-schplenden-schlitter-crasscrenbon-fried-digger-dingle-dangle-dongle-dungle-burstein-von-knacker-thrasher-apple-banger-horowitz-ticolensic-grander-knotty-spelltinkle-grandlich-grumblemeyer-spelterwasser-kurstlich-himbleeisen-bahnwagen-gutenabend-bitte-ein-nürnburger-bratwustle-gerspurten-mitzweimache-luber-hundsfut-gumberaber-shönendanker-kalbsfleisch-mittler-aucher von Hautkopft of Ulm.

How do we check him in ?  ;D

At the risk of not being pedantic, I'd call him, " Bob ".  ;D

Premiere of the Quartet for the End of Time, although I would hope I'd be able to hop straight back onto the time machine at the end of the performance.

I'd give anything to go back to my favourite live performance of all time which was Natalia Gutman doing the first Shostakovich concerto in Edinburgh in (roughly) 1996

I think it would be quite cool to be present at the first studio recording session of John Williams's Star Wars (1977) with the London Symphony before he was super famous or anyone knew a thing about what this film would be.

Definitely, the Ring in Salzburg would be great too!

If you do get that time machine working, this will give you the coordinates of that performance of Bruckner 8 by Karajan. It even gives the seat number where you can find me. :)

I vaguely recall there was some bizarre ritual that you have to go to to avoid your image appearing twice. :(

I think that you will find your answer on post 187, page 10 on the new software thread.

Dave Hurwitz appears to read GMG, because he just responded to this prompt in a YouTube video. Solid list including both famous disasters and famous collaborations (Haydn and Mozart playing the latter's quintets together).

I had the same thought upon seeing his upload last night.

Beware the lurking Hurwitz!  :o
