Keemun

I'm not fond of introductions, but as it's only polite to introduce one's self, here goes...    ::)

I grew up playing music, trumpet and horn to be exact.  I stopped when I finished high school.  This laid the foundation for my current love of classical music.

Some of my favorite composers are Beethoven, Brahms, Bruckner, Mahler, Sibelius and Tchaikovsky.  My favorite violin concerto is Tchaikovsky, my favorite piano concerto is Tchaikovsky No. 1 and my favorite cello concerto is Elgar.  My favorite symphonies are those by the composers listed above.  I also like some Bach and Handel, especially their large-scale choral works.

I chose the name "Keemun" because it is one of my favorite varieties of tea and I was drinking it when I chose the name for another classical music board.  My avatar is a cup of keemun tea surrounded by keemun tea leaves.  Yes, I like tea.    ;)

I suppose that's enough of an introduction for now.   ;D

Hi Keemun! I use the nick Darjeeling on some internet sites, so you're in good company.  ;D

Well allthough I am a coffee addict, a tea party once in a while has its attractions too.
Welcome to our friendly forum, and participate actively.

I'm drinking coffee now, but I drink more tea than coffee.  Thank you for the welcoming.

Hi Keemun, and welcome.  While I'm mostly a coffee type, I do like tea and Keemun is delicious.

I notice you're in Louisiana - what part?  I have been going to New Orleans for the jazz festival for the last two or three years, and enjoyed it tremendously.

I'm in southwest Louisiana, but I've never been to the New Orleans Jazz Festival.  :-[

If you like jazz, it seems like heaven.  I hope to visit some other festivals at some point, but this one sets a high bar.  Both in quality and quantity, the music is hard to beat.  Oh, and then there's the food... :D

Hmmm... I also like jazz and I presently have a headache (but not from listening to John Coltrane, which really does make my head hurt).   :-\

Keemun - BIG welcome to the GMG Forum - your interests should be well served here - check out the 'Non-Classical Music thread' - plenty of blues & jazz music (and LA-New Orleans) interest here, also, including myself - hope to see you in future posts & threads -  :D

Keemun

Thanks for the warm welcome.   :)

Keemun, I just realised I forgot to welcome you. Must have been one of those "thought-I-pressed-Post-but-closed-the-window-without-doing-so" occasions. ::)

Welcome, anyhow. About a month late, but regardless! ;)

Keemun

Thanks, Renfield.  Better late than never, I always say.   ;D
