Nice choices! An interesting combination.

Ah, pas de souper avec Suppè:)

I expected at least one Operetta composer at dinner.  :D

When I see the covers of these discs, I think of you Harry.  :)

That would have been Franz von Suppe"as the Fourth composer. For I think "Die Schöne Galathee" is a  absolute masterwork. Andrea Bogner, is not to be beaten in her role. I have played this recording at least 25 times in one year.

That WOULD be cool...
"A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people ... then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one's neighbour — such is my idea of happiness"

Tolstoy

Lisztianwagner

Richard Wagner
Gustav Mahler
Arnold Schönberg

It would be amazing to hear them about their different points of view on music and art.
"Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire." - Gustav Mahler

DaveF

Elena Firsova, obviously:

And certainly not inviting anyone else ;D
"All the world is birthday cake" - George Harrison

vers la flamme

Carlo Gesualdo
Allan Pettersson
Malcolm Arnold

Just kidding  ;D  My real list would be something like this:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Arvo Pärt
Johannes Brahms

No clue how they'd all get along, but I would love to get to know each of them.

Cato

Easy!

Bruckner

Mahler

Schoenberg

"Meet Miss Ruth Sherwood, from Columbus, Ohio, the Middle of the Universe!"

- Brian Aherne introducing Rosalind Russell in  My Sister Eileen (1942)

Judith

For me it would be
Robert and Clara Schumann and Brahms would have to tag along because he was involved with them so there are my three.

It is said that one should never meet one's heroes, so I would opt for the following.

Shostakovich
Debussy
Vaughan Williams

A nice evening with interesting people whose music I don't enjoy.

(poco) Sforzando

Beethoven, Wagner, Schoenberg. Might as well assemble the three most disagreeable in one place.
"I don't know what sforzando means, though it clearly means something."
