I don't suppose it pays well, but its a pity he didn't do more audiobook work with his great voice. There's a set of Thomas Hardy's Return Of The Native, but sadly little else.

That's interesting I listen to them in the car. I studied 'Return of the Native' for A Level so I will definitely look out for that one. Thanks for alerting us to it.

I am afraid I have seen Rickman only in the somewhat cardboard villain roles, like the Sheriff in Robin Hood and Snape (and I have only seen the first 3 Potter movies) so I can hardly appreciate the full range of his art.

Snape gets more interesting starting in 5 (the movie of 4 is really bad BTW). Rickman (and Branagh in 2) stole the show as far as I'm concerned.

He also made Dogma a lot better than it would've been without him.

My favorite Rickman: Sense and Sensibility, The Barchester Chronicles, and Die Hard.

Have ordered 'Galaxy Quest' which looks fun.

Yeah, he was great as the angel Metatron. His body was modeled after a Ken doll  ;D

We just revisited Galaxy Quest last night.  Canadian actor Enrico Colantoni is also really fun as the naive, not-quite-understanding-the-situation alien.

:-P

Sort of like what Mozart felt in Amadeus playing the keyboard for the noble's dogs.

Really look forward to seeing it.
