I knew she'd had brain cancer a few years back.  :(

What a composer and performer.

Outside of what she provided for ex-Paul, Gary Burton's various groups dug into her tunes with a vengeance.
She worked with Charlie Haden to sublime effect.

Back in '77, I had a short correspondence with her.
A beautiful and crazy person!

I'm sorry to hear about this, but she had a long and very successful career. 
My favourite albums - 4x4, Fleur Carnivore, and The Very Big Carla Bley Band.  I also have a treasured live big band recording off BBC radio in the 80s, includes a great rendering of the Pink Panther theme.
