Not a huge problem,  @Dungeon Master but while I do show as a subscriber, my PM volume is still circumscribed.

Harry

I get constantly warnings from Google that GMG is not using secured servers, and someone is trying to change my info, etc, etc...This is exactly the issue I warned Rob about  but it seems nothing has changed on his side. And all the messages from GMG are still going in my spam folder. It's all a pre warning from Google before they close the access totally. And then what?
I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

Harry, would enabling 2 factor authentication help?  It's under your account/settings.

No dear, the server is to blame, authentication will not help.

I've never received any messages like this.  I don't normally use Google as my search engine nor use gmail for my *email address.

*I feel more comfortable/safer elsewhere

I think it's a fair question whether anyone besides Harry is getting any of these messages. I don't receive emails other than to let me know there's been a private message. But my browsers (Safari on my phone and Firefox on my PC) have never complained about the site. Certainly I've seen Firefox warn me that sites aren't secure, but it's never said that about GMG.

There is one simple solution: always keep the GMG tab open and never log out. This way one doesn't need e-mail notifications, all one has to do is check the site regularly.

...so you keep your computer running 24 hours a day?

When I turn my computer back on, open my browser and go to GMG, it's as if I had never logged out (I choose "stay logged in forever" if I ever log out on purpose and then log in again). And it's the same on my tablet and on my phone.

Same thing here.

Do also take care that your inbox is not always full, though, yes? 😉

I put it on Hibernate mode during night, but pretty much yes, I never turn it off (at most I restart it when need arises).

It's not full currently.  ;)

Yes, but that wasn't the question. Florestan referred to keeping a tab open, and has confirmed that essentially, the answer to my question is yes, his computer doesn't actually get turned off.

I log out all the time. Whenever I'm done, I log out. Something is really wrong with Harry's account, seemingly different from the rest of us. Rob should look into it.

@Harry Can't remember whether these have been suggested in the past, but 1) could you whitelist GMG?, or 2) could it have to do with adjusting your security/privacy settings on your computer?  In any event, good luck!

FWIW I used to get the same problem as @Harry on all my devices, like messages ending up in spam folders or not arriving at all, and there seemed to be nothing I could do about it.  I have my own mail servers hosted by Ionos which I can configure as I like, but whitelisting had no effect - messages originating from GMG seemingly were flagged as dodgy further upstream and binned by the host.

However this problem disappeared completely from my Windows devices a while back - messages arrive in my Inbox in good time, and no other issues.  However my Android devices still periodically report an issue - when I attempt to load the forum in Chrome I get a security warning that the page is not private, with the message NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID.  It happens more on the phone than the tablet, and I can usually choose to override it when it occurs, but clearly there is something not quite right.  As both phone and tablet are quite old, and are running old versions of Android, I have tended to assume it's a protocol mismatch somewhere that's fixed in later releases.  I wouldn't imagine that was Harry's issue though. :-\

Yes, but the issue here is not whether Florestan turns his computer off or not. The issue is trying to help Harry with his problem...

Believe me, I have done all I possibly can. I even gave my tech firm who keeps all my gear in order to find out who or what the culprit was. They found out what it was, and this is what I posted several times in this thread. The ball lies in the hands of Rob, he must either change to a server that is trusted by Google, or he may let it go for now. I am waiting for a solution.

Thank you, finally someone who had or has the same problem. There is no distinction between computers, tabs or phones, all lands in the spam map. All gear is updated to the latest versions. And yes this is the message I also get  "NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID". Of course I can override it, but at my own risk of course.
