Hmmmmm... who would you cast to play Lenny?

Elijah Wood?

Rowan Atkinson?

Joe Turturro?

This may seem like a dark horse, but...Daniel Craig.

The author of the article suggested Leonardo DiCaprio (young Lenny) and Robert Deniro (old Lenny).

I thought about those, too (running through Scorsese's "usual suspects") but somehow neither of those seems quite right - much as I like both of them. Will ponder other potential candidates...

If they are cast — I'd rather watch Eraserhead again <ggg>

Robert Deniro (old Lenny).

Scene 72:

"Are you pointin' at me?"
"Yeah, I'm pointin' at you!"
"ARE YOU POINTIN'...AT ME?!"
"Well, you're the only one in the first-chair violin, so yeah, I'M POINTIN' AT YOU!!!"

The usual bloodbath ensues.  $:)

The little-known side of Lenny.  ;D

That's an excellent suggestion! And would be a great way for Craig to break free from his old, *cough*, bonds.

Not scary, but plenty of zombie kills.

I know, right? And really, there is more than a little facial resemblance (bodily, perhaps less).

To start Halloween off right, this hilariously bad gem, starring Nancy Davis - a.k.a. former First Lady Nancy Reagan.

I think I only learnt of this from Steve Martin's The Man With Two Brains, Bruce.

Revisited the original Halloween for the first time in thirty-whatever years.  Not especially violent by today's standards, and not especially suspenseful, it was good enough and made for entertaining pre-Halloween viewing.  How can one not at least enjoy the overacting of Donald Pleasance?  The BD transfer is superb.  I also liked the fact, which I may or may not have noticed years ago, that the original version of The Thing was playing on TVs in the background.

Kiss Me/Kyss mig (2011)  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1859522/

An account of what happens when people unexpectedly fall in love, including the unsavoury repercussions.
It was depicted in a way that I found a little too neat and obvious - including one exchange of dialogue which questioned why you would eat tofu when you can have real meat... But perhaps that was just down to clumsy translation. Visually it all looked nice, but sometimes my eyes felt they were being dragged all over the frame for the sake of it. Still, that shouldn't detract from the fact that the photography was consistent throughout.

"You overestimate my power of attraction," he told her. "No, I don't," she replied sharply, "and neither do you".

ALL ABOUT OUR HOUSE    Japan 2001    dir. Koki Mitani
a genial comedy-drama of young couple getting a house designed by a "modern" architect to be built by one of the couple's tradition-minded fathers.  Checking this out for suitability for a birthday gift for my very conservative sister.  Brother-in-law who built the house they live in will  enjoy the construction scenes.  Quite nice.
