is this group down? i cant join them it says i dont have authorization but i have no way to achieve that!

I still see posts there as of 90 minutes ago or so.  I thought there was  a move afoot (to ConcertArchive?), but I'm totally out of the loop as I check the group very rarely.

also, the old uploads from before 2015 were all on rapidshare or what?

Since Google Group has closed down where did they migrate to? Ditto Concert Archive. I don't have rare bootleg recordings but I have a bunch of DVD and BD rips. 
If you are interested in listening to orchestrations of solo/chamber music, you might be interested in this thread.
Also looking for recommendations on neglected conductors thread.
