Supraphon is a great label. Many of those already listed are favourites (espec. Honegger and Martinu but there are many others:
"Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" (Churchill).

'The test of a work of art is, in the end, our affection for it, not our ability to explain why it is good' (Stanley Kubrick).

@Irons That was lovely!  Thank you for sharing that with me/us!

I don't know that Novák album, but I do own and enjoy that Kubelík set.  :)

Listening to this right now, and wondering if it might be my favorite Fifth...

EDIT: Just to say a little more about it. Matacic's pacing is as fast as some of the fastest Russians, but his sense of flow has such a naturalness and ease and grace. It doesn't feel like an air raid, but like the impassioned Tchaikovsky of the biggest ballet moments. The Czech orchestra is, of course, gorgeous. The French horn plays its big solo with typical Czech vibrato, which many people dislike, but the woodwinds throughout are absolutely glowing.

The Bloch CD is a more recent manifestation of the one depicted in the opening post and, at last, there is a new recording of Kabelac's epic 'Mystery of Time' one of my favourite GMG Forum discoveries:

The Headmistress at the school where I used to teach offered to hire a 'skip' (dumpster?)to help to 'clear out' my office, which contained no CDs but a large collection of old books, papers, maps, history exam papers and obsolete VHS videos.

Interesting that there's been very little mention of the Dvorak sets, which between all 7 contain almost all of his non operatic works.

Besides those boxes most of the Supraphon I have is Martinu of various and sundry sorts, Janacek operas, Kletzki Beethoven, Prazak Quartet Beethoven, Neumann Mahler, and the Kabelac symphonies. The Dvorak and Martinu are what I would least want to part with.

Addendum: I should point out this relatively recent one

Lost in the midst of time which is a travesty.

Another recording of the (original) Czech Trio on my shelves enjoys an upload on YT. Unfortunately this particular pressing is extremely noisy but I think the excellence of the ensemble shines through the mush.
