Quote from: brewski on November 03, 2025, 04:42:09 PMWhew. All gone, but somehow the bot had figured out how to get around the "first post must be approved" firewall.

Carry on!
Shudder!  Evil bot!  >:(

Something is really amiss.  I tried numerous times to quote and post to 71dB and kept getting "Forbidden" messages....I kept editing and even tried to send a PM and all to no avail.   :(

The building is crumbling.... :)
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

"When Time hath gnawed our bones to dust, yet friendship's echo shall not rust"

Kalevala

I suspect that it was the parentheses that acquired the "Forbidden" notice.

No emails at the moment or alerts

Two or three times (whilst I was quoting and replying to a fellow poster) I received a "Forbidden" notice.  I tried deleting various things until I was able to post.  They included one laughing emoji and a pair of parentheses.

Nothing major but when I clicked on the Hurwitz thread orange link in new posts/unread posts, I got the attached. A blank page #71 when the last post was on #70. Occured to me 2-3 days ago, in the same thread (none of the others) when it was a blank #70 with the last post on #69.

Anyway, as you were  8)

I had that happen too and I'm pretty certain that it was on that same thread.

*Perhaps DH is getting even for some of the negative comments?
*And that was meant as a quote.

Rather than waiting for the avatar issue to be resolved, I opted for Beethoven from the gallery options. In case some of you are not aware, one gets an error message when trying to upload one or use a URL address. Nothing wrong with ol' Ludwig, I suppose!

Yes, it's a hugely annoying bug, at least for me. Not that I mind having Haydn as avatar (he's in my top 5).

Btw, are you a Joseph Conrad fan? If yes, welcome to the club. Nostromo is a masterpiece, imnnsho. ;)

Yes, and the Alien movie! Nosotromo is the name of the space vessel.

I certainly don't mind having Beethoven for my avatar.

Mapman

I somehow only encountered the "forbidden" error for the first time today.

Making this post:

Quote from: Mapman on November 23, 2025, 03:25:35 PMBrahms: Clarinet Sonata #1, Op. 120/1
Stanley Drucker, Leonid Hambro

A good performance as expected from New York's longtime principal.

The forum software rejected any punctuation after the word "performance". I was also not able to edit the post to add the punctuation.

Another breakthrough on 403 Forbidden, posted here:

After a quotation mark, then an exclamation mark, you cannot write a space as the next character.

Holy smokes, you're right!
Nobody has to apologise for using their brain.

I also noticed that when someone likes your post and you get an alert, you will not see that under the post, just blank, another Bug? And the site reacts really slow today....

The forum has been SLOW today for me.  ::)

Is there still something you would like to say to me?
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Thank you, but no it doesn't really matter.

Elgarian Redux

Very slow for me too. I did manage to make a couple of posts, but they took an age to settle in after submitting. Sometimes I was 'Forbidden' even to look at the forum, whether posting or not.

There's something I would like to say to you. I hope you're well, and have had a good day.
And three cheers for Elgar.
