Spotted Horses

I got a forbidden page (first in a very long while) when I first opened the main discussion board page. The problem was resolved when I immediately reloaded and did not have any trouble posting.
Formerly Scarpia (Scarps), Baron Scarpia, Ghost of Baron Scarpia, Varner, Ratliff, Parsifal, perhaps others.

Quote from: Harry on January 09, 2026, 08:30:46 AMIt happened a few times with me too, Poul, unfortunately. That's why I always copy my text before posting it.
Once in a great while, this happens by me, as well.

Quote from: Madiel on January 17, 2026, 08:56:24 PMThis is what happens. It isn't the number of words, it's the precise combination of words and punctuation that the system decides to dislike.
And the system appears legendarily capricious in this regard.

Quote from: JBS on January 19, 2026, 03:53:10 PMI've discovered another aspect of the Forbidden bug.
If you are editing a previously posted post and trigger the bug, the edited post will be freeze with the announcement "Loading..." hanging forever at the top of the screen.

I discovered this when trying to add an update to a post in the Listening thread. After hitting "Loading..." twice, I tried it as a quote of my original post with the same one sentence comment. That brought me the Forbidden bug in its usual form. I ended up just deleting all the commas in my comment, after which it deigned to let me actually post.
A fascinating additional data point.

Cato

Once again 409 FORBIDDEN Error, if I try to write more than one line at a time.
"Meet Miss Ruth Sherwood, from Columbus, Ohio, the Middle of the Universe!"

Cato

"FORBIDDEN" is back!  This is a test: last night I tried to place a comment on "What Are You Reading?" and "FORBIDDEN" came up.

In January this happened, and I got around it by placing one sentence at a time on the comment.  Tedious, but it worked.  Last night, even that failed!
"Meet Miss Ruth Sherwood, from Columbus, Ohio, the Middle of the Universe!"

I just tried to complete my comment under What Are You Reading?, and "FORBIDDEN" Error 403 came on!

Let me try it here:

It did not work!   ???  :o

Then your first sentence was probably the one that had the forbidden combination of words and punctuation.

Here it is:

If you don't stop giving homework and scolding them for not having it

No weird punctuation or symbols or anything!

The conclusion is: then we will not need a German teacher.

Let me try it at "What Are You Reading Now?"
"Meet Miss Ruth Sherwood, from Columbus, Ohio, the Middle of the Universe!"

Cato

No, the same sentence above, even in part, was FORBIDDEN.

@Cato asked that I post this on his behalf:

"I experienced a glitch last night (February 16th) on the "What Are You Reading?" topic. This morning I did a test, and was able to get a short message or two onto The Bug Report. Since then, I have been completely "FORBIDDEN" from placing anything, even one word, on any topic. Please fix this as soon as possible! I have already spent too much time fiddling with ways to avoid the bug: different web browsers, using Private Mode, logging in anew, restarting my computer, etc. Even the previous method to avoid the glitch, which I used last month, of (tediously) typing in one line or just a phrase at a time has failed every time so far. I would hate to say good-bye after nearly 25 years, but I cannot spend any more time or frustration on the problem. Thank you!"

It doesn't have to be weird to human eyes.

Madiel

Get him to try clearing his cache. Although if he has tried different browsers and it failed, that is not a good sign. And I actually had a forbidden error trying to quote the post.

GMG without Cato. :o
That must not happen.

And when shall we all become forbidden?
Reality trumps our fantasy far beyond imagination.

That's very sad! Please tell Cato that I too tried to reply to his posts here but I also got the Forbidden message each and every time. It's all bollocks. Verdammt!

Looks like it's a last man standing race. Problem is, some of the best fall first. ;D

I mean, we're such a small community... Less than 20 daily active posters... Even the fact that we sometimes get into (bitter) polemics testifies that this board is important for us... We might not always agree on what constitute good music / good performance, but each of us always know them when we hear them... It would be a great pity if all that went to blazes.
