If you get the Forbidden message, use the Cut function to delete all but a few words, then post the truncated version, then immediately hit the edit button, re-insert the text you cut, and hit the save button.

If it works it will save the time/effort of guessing what combination of characters the server is allergic to that day.

That did not work for me a couple weeks ago. When I tried to re-insert the offending comma, I was unable to save the edit.

So much for that bright idea...😳

Oh hard luck. It sounded so promising!

Oh, Lord!  I just tried (several times) to send a PM to someone here and I kept getting the forbidden message.  I deleted all emojis...still not enough.  Also, the recipient's name kept disappearing and I had to reenter it.  Augh!

I deeply sympathise (as the Walrus said). There are times when I've found it simply impossible to post no matter what changes I make, forcing me to copy my post into Word and save it, in order to try again at another time.

Not so much a bug so much as an observation.  Yesterday, there were 13,932 visitors.  That's a lot of bot hits.  How long until a critical vulnerability is identified?  The observed spikes in bots are tied to the repeated 403 errors.  Google Safe Browsing and VirusTotal still show the site as safe, but I think I will download my long form posts for safekeeping offline.

I think you should repeat post on Tony's site like before - he manages the software very well - there's really no need to get involved in the politics there, and I think everyone appreciated what you said about music.

Now I got hit by the Forbidden bug when posting to the Listening thread. And since I don't have the patience to figure out what triggered it, the result was a much shorter post than intended.

It's frustrating, I know.  :(

Incorrect.

Site was unreachable for 2 hours.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

I have not received a "Forbidden" message, but I can't upload an avatar. I see that it's been a problem for a while, so cheers to any IT type who can fix it!

If you read back in this thread, you find it to be a problem that can only be fixed by Rob the owner of GMG. Till now it is not a priority for him.
