Quote from: prémont on January 09, 2026, 08:18:57 AMA short and completely harmless post I wrote earlier today to the board "purchases today" has disappeared after it had been sent to the board. Do such things happen or has a moderator deleted it?

It happened a few times with me too, Poul, unfortunately. That's why I always copy my text before posting it.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

A few times I thought that I had posted something, but it didn't appear.  I wonder whether or not I might have just hit either "Preview" first (and then forgot to hit post) or if it might have been the case of someone having posted on the thread whilst I was composing my thoughts and I didn't hit "Post anyway"...or (new thought) if one or more people posted at the same time and only one post went on through?

Well, I saw my post posted and later it disappeared - and no one posted in that thread at that moment.

That's weird!  :(

I'm getting the forbidden access error message if I type more than a few words. When I tried to edit it initially, an orange colored message popped up and said "Loading" but nothing happened. I deleted it and started over with a minimal comment.

This is what happens. It isn't the number of words, it's the precise combination of words and punctuation that the system decides to dislike.
Nobody has to apologise for using their brain.

Perhaps the program has pedantic inclinations?

K

Madiel

Anti-pedantic given that it objects to ending a sentence with a full stop.

How long does this and the avatar problem have to go on before someone fixes them?

Patience is required, it could mean a very long time ;D

There is a maxim, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth."
Formerly Scarpia (Scarps), Baron Scarpia, Ghost of Baron Scarpia, Varner, Ratliff, Parsifal, perhaps others.

Like, forever.  ;D

It is time to(o) long for a solution.

Depends who that abstract someone is.

JBS

I've discovered another aspect of the Forbidden bug.
If you are editing a previously posted post and trigger the bug, the edited post will be freeze with the announcement "Loading..." hanging forever at the top of the screen.

I discovered this when trying to add an update to a post in the Listening thread. After hitting "Loading..." twice, I tried it as a quote of my original post with the same one sentence comment. That brought me the Forbidden bug in its usual form. I ended up just deleting all the commas in my comment, after which it deigned to let me actually post.

Yep, this has happened to me. It took me a little while to realise it was a variation of the same bug.
