Be well, my friend.

@hopefullytrusting You're no good to me. I can't sleep, with your 'Time to worship, satannnn'. I don't know your real name. I don't trust you at all, and I won't do 'hopefully'.

Never someone has said to me I sound 'parroting'. I don't recognize myself in it. I am just myself and I have the right to express myself the way I do, I haven't done anyone harm.

I read the books I want to read. I like reading and it's not that I read whole libraries.

My brother, or satan, also critized me, that I must hold on to my own values.

I'm a broken man, not just because of you, and you try to destroy me. Maybe you'll succeed. Congratulations in that case.

Sometimes it is a good idea to take a break.
Over the years I have been the subject of some nasty attacks and had to take a break.
The last time it was a few years ago.
The worse was in the old Amazon classical forum.
I have found that the best way to deal with rude members is to put them on your ignore list.

Had to post to make me feel less vulnerable and go into counter-attack. I'll put him on my ignore list later. Thanks for the tip.

For my sanity I had to put Todd on my ignore list some years ago, because his political views are horrifying. Then political discussion was killed* on this forum and now I'm planning to take Todd off my ignore list, because his non-political views are typically okay.

* I am personally fed up with politics these days myself. I don't have much interests in debating about it anymore.

I think it violates the guidelines to announce who is on your ignore list. But I could be wrong.

I encourage you to leave me on your ignore list.

I already removed you from the list.  ;)

You said Finland will never be accepted to NATO. Well, Finland was accepted in record time despite Hungary and Turkey milking as much as possible from the process slowing it down many many months. You were wrong big time and I don't need to take your political views seriously. However, your post on the what hifi... thread are very good and I agree with you a lot about those issues.

Really? If so, I am very sorry about that.

I just looked and it is not mentioned specifically. Some people might see it as impolite but I don't think Todd is usually concerned about levels of politeness.  :D

It's not a top ten concern.

The guidelines are also silent about turning GMG into a personal blog and about posting walls of text, so I guess both are legit.

Just to be on the safe side, from now on I won't be revealing who is on my ignore list and who isn't. Let's just say that for the time being my ignore list is empty.

As for the politeness part goes, I think things have gone beyond politeness when there is a need to add someone on the ignore list. As long as there is politeness, there is no need for ignore list.

Soon after I joined the forum, I put a few people on the ignore list. Todd wasn't one of them, just to be clear. The trouble was that whenever they posted, I kept seeing that they had written something, only I couldn't read it because I had chosen to ignore them. To make it worse, the notice appeared in a different colour. So I ended up paying more attention than I wanted, when all I really wanted was not to see them at all. In the end I cleared the ignore list. Now I see their posts, but I don't read them, since I have no interest in what's going on in their heads. It is actually easier to ignore people without the list than with it.
