Yeah, a soda is a soft drink, a carbonated beverage like Coke, 7Up and Dr. Pepper. If they just ask for a soda, they probably don't care which kind.

Danke - they just want their sugar fix!!

Agreed.  However, in reality (as opposed to television) I've never witnessed someone order a "soda", not caring what kind is received.  Also, in the realm of alcoholic beverages, if some orders a scotch and soda, the "soda" is generally club soda (unflavored/unsweetened carbonated water).

...... but TV is reality .......

Indeed, one of my favourite documentaries is Murder She Wrote - it's especially disturbing how the police never catch her :(

Indeed, she skips town after every killing, so that police cannot establish a pattern.

I am thinking: autumn is colorful.  It is good.

I am thinking: I smoked cigarettes for 5 years.  That is bad.
But, I haven't smoked in a month.  I can breathe fully and actually use my nose now.  That is good.

Subject: I am an idiot.

Content: I just bought a £400 TV from Amazon, but forgot to use the GMG affiliate link. It may not have worked anyway, but there is always the chance...

Is it good: No.

Hey Lethe, if you bought from Amazon proper and not marketplace, you can always cancel the order and buy again.

Fair point - unfortunately I am an dirty addict, and unhappy with missing more than two days of precious TV,* I paid for next day delivery - it's already been dispatched :-\ (£7 for next day for a TV is IMO really nice value)

*To be honest, it was more to do with being able to play music DVDs, but it sounds funnier if I implied I would die if I missed too many Eastenders episodes or something.

Wanna know something scary? I apparently have PHENOMENAL EYESIGHT! I can read the above at a distance of 1.5ft from my screen. :o

I'm thinking, 'How the hell did part of my cat's nose wind up hanging down his face? And where's the replacement collar and name tag we bought him just a few hours ago? And why do we have to wait till morning for a vet to see him? And how will we pay if an operation is needed to fix his face? Has he been in a fight? Probably ... ' :(

I'm thinking that using a boy-tenor in the last movement of Mahler's 4th might not actually be such a bad idea, the way Bernstein implemented it. :D

thinking now that i'm in a decent place in my life, and it can only go up from here!  :)

I'm thinking that listening to Verdi Requiem and Beethoven Missa Solemnis makes for a fine evening's enjoyment.  Right now is the violin solo in MS.

My boy cat always comes home with scratches on his face... but that is the least of my worries, as he is completely oblivious, and doesn't get out of the way of reversing cars etc.
