Halloween is a chore.  This year, as in years past, I must sample my kid's (alas, not kids' this year :'() candy so as to ensure no poisoning.  I shall start with the Snickers, as they are most likely to be poisoned.

Yes, it is the father's duty to his children!

In general, I wish there were other occasions in the year when here in the States, folks took delight in dressing up in costume, and other occasions when people exercised creativity in decoration, &c.  For various reasons, there are far fewer kids about our neighborhood for trick-or-treats, which is a disappointment to our landlords, who used to extend themselves quite.

Will definitely watch one of The Addams Family Hallowe'en episodes this evening, and possibly It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Of course the fun for me is dressing my son up in a ridiculous costume that he has no say in, now I'm on my way to the store to buy the last available costume for myself, it's the procrastinator's way of Halloween costume shopping, much easier.

We have no Halloween in the Netherlands, and those that tried to introduce it, failed miserably.  :P

But . . . what is wrong with your sock monkey costume? . . .
