Quote from: Papy Oli on September 24, 2024, 01:45:56 PMBordeaux played in their own stadium last Saturday, with a max crowd gauge of 12,000. Nice to see a full kop back.

Went 2-0 down at HT after a dismal 45 minutes. Much better in the second half. Monsieur Carroll scored twice in the last  15 minutes to salvage a point. I think we already love him.

According to some local reports, he is on the fourth division pay level (3 to 4K euros) a month and playing for the sporting challenge of it all. He has been allegedly financially careful during his career and not been seeking paychecks like in Saudi. He just wants to have fun in his career end. Not sure how long that will go as his Family lives in London.

Still if he scores a brace at each game, we'll give him a statue  :P

(Only our third Englishman ever after Clive Allen and Josh Maja...who now scores for fun in the championship. Damn, he was so badly used in his days at our club).

Reports in redtops today that Carroll's marriage to Billi Mucklow is over and they are seeking a divorce.

Saw that this morning. The gods don't want anything touching Bordeaux to be happy  :(  :laugh:

(That said, we won our first FA cup round 5-0 today. Andy was rested. That was against a division 9 team...another 14 rounds and we could meet a Ligue 1 team.. :P )

PS: if you want Andy back at West Ham, it's 100 million euros  >:D

@Irons

Guess who scored a brace in his 2nd game?

Ps: not impressed with your team trashing Ipswich though  >:D

Good to hear that Olivier, tad early for a statue though. Carroll at no time relied on pace so passing years would not be that big an issue.

Cracking day at the London Stadium yesterday. The whole team played well and a fellow countryman of your good self, Jean-Clair Todibo with only his second start smashed it! A future French international, nailed on. He get's West Ham too which is not always the case with foreign players.
