Kullervo

Jolivet would've been sad to know he's been beaten in the extremely small arena of ondes Martenot concerti. :)

You have to list your top ten (the numering is less important this time ;)) favourite concerti ... but you can choose each solo instrument only ONCE.

Good ... but no cigar. See above. ;)

Jolivet would've been sad to know he's been beaten in the extremely small arena of ondes Martenot concerti. :)

Marcel Landowski : concerto for ondes, strings and percussion ( Erato /LP and CD)
Jacques Charpentier : Concertino "à la Francese" for ondes, strings and 21 percussion ( a short but terrific work! used to be available on a Philips LP) + a concerto for ondes and full orch.
Paul Bizet : Concerto for ondes and orch
Jacques Bondon : Concerto for ondes and orch. ( Kaléidoscope for ondes and small orch. used to available on an Erato LP)
Philippe Capdenat : Concerto Italien for ondes  & orch.
Raymond Depraz : Concerto "Isha Upanishad"
Jacques Dupont : Concerto ondes & orch;
Ruben Radica: Concerto
Armin Schibler :Concert pour le temps présent
Karel Trow: Concerto
Georges Léonce Guinot : Concerto
Jacques Hétu : Concerto
Joseph Maria Mestres : Concerto for ondes, perc and orch.
Pierre Meyer : Concerto for ondes , 2 pianos and perc.

(Most of these composers ( France, Switzerland, Canada, Croatia) are roughly contemporary of Messiaen, Jolivet and Dutilleux. Very little of their work is available on CD...it slumbers in the shadows of Messiaen and Boulez ( ..Ravel and Debussy...)

..and that's just the concerti. There's a wealth of suites, symphonies ( Koechlin nr 2, Martinon nr 2 "Hymne à la vie"), solo pieces, trios, quartets, combinations with choir, other electronics etc.

A clarinet concerto by Igor?

Apart from obvious ever popular concerti as those by Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven, Bach, Vivaldi etc., I quite regularly listen to
Hindemith: organ concerto1962
Ginastera: harp
Jolivet: cello nr 1
Poulenc: harpsichord
Mennin: piano
Orbon: string quartet & orch.
Schoenberg: violin
Gudmunsen-Holmgreen: Tryptikon (percussion)
Nielsen: clarinet
Jacques Charpentier: ondes Martenot (concertino)

Jo498

It's called "Ebony concerto" but it is clearly a clarinet concerto and no second instrument is credited as solo.

Bass - Rautavaara
Harpsichord - possibly Poulenc
Bassoon - possibly Maxwell Davies
Trumpet - maybe Haydn
