I sometimes find it a little challenging to pick out non-symphonic works as favourites in some of these 'top tens'. Inexperience and a non-obvious musical journey is probably the problem. This one didn't take too long to ponder as all of these works feature pretty highly in what I have recently (or not so recently) come to love. It could almost be a list of many of my favourite composers.
