Not really. I made my first uploads to OperaShare following their tradition of Rapidshare. I created a free account there, and use their RapidUploader.
The only problem I've had so far is that I can not purchase a premium account, it seems my Visa debit card is for domestic use only, even though I use it with one account I have at the HSBC...

If you upload to Mediafire, its free for anyone to download any amount of files.

BTW, I am having trouble joiniung those Rostropovich RAR files. I have a MAC and my HJ Split won't join them. Any ideas?

Yes. HJsplit will not work. With any software that works with Rar files, you only need to open the first one and decompress it, it will automatically work with the other two.

I know nothing about software for Macs, but a google search led to this

RAR for Mac OS X:
http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Compression-Tools/RAR-for-Mac-OS-X.shtml

(some sort of .rar files manager)

I burnt the European Concert from 2005 in the afternoon and tried to watch it in my dvd player (a Philips 5100k) but audio and video do not run in synchrony. I don't have this problem when playing it in my PC, though.
I reprocessed the files with VirtualDubMod, for a full recompression, but the problem persists.
I'm thinking that as the audio bitrate in this files is 320kbps, my dvd player may not support it.
I had no problem with the other videos.

This may not be a problem for other players that work with Xvid and Divx.

This is exactly what I get when I try to open the first file using UnRarX on my MAC:

Encrypted file:  CRC failed in /Users/cindycarrandi/Desktop/Rostropovich/RostSCC1_2.r01.rar (password incorrect ?)
No files to extract

I'm sorry. I should have checked if the file had a password.

The password is: www.AvaxHome.ru

Thanks!  :)

Hopefully, this is my last question. When/where do I type the password?

Maybe you weren't meant to have this, George. ;)

OK, so now I have 3 jpeg files; 1 .ape, 1 .cue and 1 .log file.

How do I make the three latter files into a sound file that I can burn using Toast?

Ohhhh. So you are new to .ape files. They work very much like flac files: Lossless format, you have one big .ape file (about 300mb), and its .cue file.

As I don't have a Mac I don't know how things may play there. I ran a Google search and found this

Quote
XLD 1.0
X Lossless Decoder(XLD)
X Lossless Decoder(XLD) is a tool for Mac OS X that is able to decode/convert/play various 'lossless' audio files. The supported audio files can be split into some tracks with cue sheet when decoding.

Here is the page: http://www.soft32.com/download_203317.html
and here's the download page: http://www.soft32.com/Download/Free/XLD/4-203317-1.html

I suppose that program will split the ape file into separate .wav files you can easily burn. That's what CueSplitter does, in XP.

(Now, you can explain Cato that compatibility problems are not just in the past)

Thanks God. I have to leave the place to study Microeconomic Analysis, so you will be a Manuel-orphan for the next 6 hours.

I get it now: the video files from this Concert are in 60 frames per second. That's not a problem for a computer, but  I don't think any dvd player can handle it (not with xvid or divx files). The usual non-problematic rates are 25, 26.973 and 29.97.

Could you finally listen to Rostropovich?

In many video files I uploaded there's a small box with a C (crossed with a vertical line, as in alla breve)
on the upper right corner of the screen. Do you know what does it mean?
