Just listening to this one (the superb Pro Cantione Antiqua) from early 13th century, Perotin time: Orff's Carmina Burana is known for incorporating texts but not melodies from the old manuscripts but this isn't the case. There is a melody, so far into this work, that he uses.

Not sure which you mean, though I love the work. But I know it only from the old Noah Greenberg version with the New York Pro Musica.

Your version is mentioned on p.781 of the 1984 Penguin guide, though the Pro Antiqua have their preference; the melody is there though.

Which part of the Play is that melody from, Sean?  I confess I can't think of any similarities at the moment, although it's been a while since I've heard/played either work. ???
