Any ideas? I have none really though I have enjoyed Harnoncourt's rather jaunty style. I hope there some sublime performances out there which I can explore.

Opus106

[No opinions attached; simply pointing out popular options.] Fretwork on EMI (I have this one). Savall on Alia Vox. Then there's the whole Purcell Edition from Warner Classics, one volume of which contains the instrumental music.

Archaic Torso of Apollo

I'm not in a position to compare, but I've got a version on BIS played by London Baroque on modern instruments, might be worth looking into if you're not crazy about the viol sound.

That said, I'm curious about Savall's version.
