Hi Hafod,
I saw your post on the r3 forum for this one so thanks for highlighting it  ;D
Have you had a shipping notice yet?

You had to be quick - there are now none left

No shipping notice yet but it is early days.

It seems the seller added more. I just ordered successfully. I wonder how this will work out.

Me too - what an amazing bargain. As a Dutch Classical music lover and RCO-fan, how could I resist?  ??? :D

Me too. Now I've got one of the "decade" boxes to get rid of. It wasn't expensive.

Are you guys in Britain? I've been checking repeatedly, with tears in my eyes, and the best price I've seen is 505 pounds ???
It's all good...

Deepdiscount have an extra 15% off today only - enter WINTER in promos. Not the greatest discount, but they also have some boxes on sale, and in conjunction with that, some pretty good prices can be had.

Back to 505 but I managed to get a confirmation at 85 GBP. I recommend you check regularly. There were 9 available when I ordered, 30 mins later there were none. This will now officially be my largest set, beating out the Haydn Edition at 152 to 150.

DIBS! Hands of my RCO Radio box Baklavaboy!

;)

My guess is its a glitch and you all get cancellations.

If I do get my hands on that set, nothing will get them off again!

However, I'm with you on the cancellations.  Price drops happen, but this price seems suspiciously close to the single decade price, and dropping to about 1/6 of the regular price on a 1000 box limited edition seems rather too good to be true.  If I don't get it, it will be a blessing, really. I've got about 1200 discs I haven't heard yet.
It's all good...

Surprise surprise! I have just heard that the Large RCO Legacy box I ordered at £85 has been cancelled because 'the price wasn't set by the seller correctly'. They listed batches of this set on FOUR separate occasions at this price (give or take a few pence), so what was going on.....incompetence, disgruntled employee...?

Bummer, I'll have to check my mail too. (Did you also order at M&L UK?) Anyway, can they do that?  ::)
I guess UK law applies here, but under Dutch law a deal is a deal unless it was an obvious mistake, which I think was not the case here.
It would have been an obvious mistake at £08.50 or £0.85 but although £85 is a bargain, it is not improbable...

Q

EDIT: cancelled! :(

No such mail to me. And as it was set on several occasions, and as it wasn't a decimal point wrong or something like that so there was not an obvious mistake (and under Norwegian law they would then have been obliged to honor the price too).

Actually, it seems to me it was a mistake by a decimal point. It is normally 500 pounds, and the price goes up to 1200. 850 would be the third most expensive instead of undercutting the lowest price by 80%+.

Hey Q, remember a week or so back I said I had played Handel's Rodalinda and was surprised at how enjoyable it was, and you said something like "Be careful"...well it turns out you knew of what you spoke. I found myself ordering this today:

42 discs and 3 DVDs for about 110USD.  A Super-Duper cheap bargain...

Well, the Baroque era is a fascinating and amazingly rich period in musical history.  I'll be curious of your findings. :)

That particular set has actually been high on my own wish list, with superb performances conducted by René Jacobs and William Christie - and it doesn't get any better than that.

Seems amazing value for money to me!  :o
