I was too late for the Vienna box, alas.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Or it means we Europeans can buy it all up before you get the chance in the US.  ;D
This happened.

Came home from work and logged on directly, 3 minutes before the offer started. Had no idea it would disappear so fast either. Pure luck, or not.

Well it also depends how many items were put in the offer. Maybe there was only a dozen of them, that would explain everything...

Not many I expect. I got on at no more than 30 seconds after 11 and 45% were taken.

I guess that happens as well if people already have it in the cart ... I think then you'll have it "reserved" automatically, but you need to finish your order within 12 or 15 minutes then, otherwise you lose your reservation and someone else waiting might snatch it up. On the other hand, the Pavarotti box yesterday went up to normal even though it said "45% reserved" - and a few minutes later it was back down to the sales price. Guess no one quite figures out how this is really working ... several offers have made more than one appearance, though I've only seen the Pavarotti, DG Originals and now the Vienna Decca once. I've not checked every day though, so ...

How long will these offers be running anyway? Straight on until christmas? Is the corporate world so desperate?

The DG Originals have been there twice.

Lots of stuff has been there several times in the last two weeks or so. I think the Vienna Phil set as well (not sure, I do not find it very attractive so I didn't follow). Keep looking!

Welcome to the forum Bluemooze!

Hey Moonfish, good to see you again.

Pat B

Bernstein's Mahler on DVD for $33+sh. It's usually around $100. These are different performances than his first cycle on Columbia/Sony and his last on DG.

Too many cd's there inside I already have, and a few I don't want to have.

Yep, the originals set definitely isn't appealing to people who have been collecting for a while. It is a great starter set or gift though!    ;)

Bookmark this link, you will see there all the actual offers over December. Go there every day, new items are added constantly.

Thanks Harry  8) this is an excellent link and I have bookmarked it.  I wonder why amazon.co.uk does not do things like this (ie put items on large sales for a limited time). If they do can someone please provide a link.

Yes all Amazon's should do this including JPC, it brings in so much extra traffic. Only Amazon de is doing this at the moment, I understand this is a pilot, if it works well all other Amazons will implement this. Have no idea if this only goes for the December month. Could not get confirmation about that.

I would go further : all sites should offer permanent 80% discounts on all references. This would be great.

Yes, marketplace seller RAREWAVES-IMPORTS -- but it looks like they have gone back to a more typical price. Sorry to raise hopes. :(
